A permanent Exploratorium exhibit collection exploring the science, physiology, psychology, technology, and cultural influences involved in the act of seeing. Seeing was a revitalized, expanded, and contextualized exhibit collection, incorporating some of the oldest and best-known Exploratorium exhibits and newly created exhibits. Exhibits were organized into eight thematic sections: Light and the Eye, Seeing Motion, Seeing Color, Seeing Depth, Seeing in Context, Seeing and Attention, Interpreting Images, and the Seeing Gallery. The concepts and design were influenced by visitor research, first with the original set of exhibits on visual perception, light, color, and motion, and then during formative testing of revised and new exhibit elements.
